Post Beta Presentation Dev Log

Hey everyone! We’ve just wrapped up our beta presentation and made some solid progress since the studio visit. Here’s a look at what’s new and what we’ll be working on next.

What’s New

• New Features – Added a camera toggle between third-person and first-person views, a radio system that loops through different background music tracks, and a count-up timer for each session.
• UI Updates – Integrated assets from the design team, especially for the UI components, which now look much more cohesive and polished.
• New Level – Introduced Level 1, our tutorial level, featuring a simple coffee table to help new players learn the basics.
• Gameplay Logic Updates – Added a drop-and-hold throw mechanism and enabled x-axis rotation in placement mode for smoother control.
• Updated Furniture Manuals – Each furniture piece now includes an updated manual that players can view while building, making the assembly process easier to follow.

Upcoming Changes

Based on feedback from our beta presentation, we’re planning a few adjustments and additions for the next version:

• Add Level 3, featuring a new warehouse room model.
• Remove third-person view and the count-up timer to streamline gameplay.
• Add a pause screen and the ability to restart each level.
• Ensure players can only attach furniture pieces to the correct markers, preventing incorrect assembly.
• Fix bugs, including the oversized bed spawning issue and updating the win condition so it triggers only when the entire furniture is placed correctly.
• Polish the room design with help from the design team.
• Add missing sound effects for a more complete experience.
• Improve the tutorial level flow so players can easily follow each step, guided by a flashing “next step” UI component.

We’re getting closer to the final build, and it’s been great seeing the project evolve from alpha to beta. Can’t wait to share the polished version soon!
