Post Playtesting Session Update


We had our first playtesting session last Friday! It was really exciting to see people try out the game for the first time and get some hands-on feedback. Here’s a quick rundown of what’s new and what we’re working on next.

What’s New

  • Ghost Pieces Preview – Players can now see a ghost version of pieces before spawning them, which makes positioning much easier.
  • Delete Piece Option – You can now delete spawned pieces if you change your mind or misplace something.
  • Level Layout for Alpha – We’ve set up a proper alpha layout using scaled assets for a more polished look.
  • Open Box Animation – Added a new animation for the box opening to make interactions feel more dynamic.
  • Controls UI – There’s now an on-screen UI at the bottom that shows all the available controls during gameplay.

What’s Next

We’re currently working on:

  • Applying the new character model and animations
  • Improving the start screen, win screen, and inventory UI from a design perspective
  • Consolidating the piece selection process into a single button for a smoother experience

During playtesting, we also found some bugs and logic issues that led to unintended behavior. We’re actively fixing those now to make gameplay more stable and enjoyable.
